Upon arrival to Juan Santamaria International Airport, a representative of Costa Rican Trails will welcome the group and accompany them to the hotel.

Depend on traffic conditions, the group will arrive in the hotel about 20-30 min after leaving the airport.

The trip this day begins with a ground transfer the Arenal Volcano Area.

During the trip, you will pass by San Miguel of Sarapiqui zone where you will enjoy a coffee tour at Mi Cafecito Community Coffee Plantation.

You will live an unforgettable experience, like a life of the Costa Rican coffee picker, you will also be able to appreciate the coffee plantations produced in harmony with nature, you can make and see an almacigal since the seed begins to germinate, this is where your transplant process begins, then continue its process until its final phase, where you can taste a delicious cup of coffee, cappuccino, espresso. You can buy top quality coffee in whole and ground beans in the souvenir shop and some crafts made by special education students, children of associates and heads of household.

After 1 hour and 30 minutes transfer you will arrive to La Fortuna de San Carlos Area, house of one of the most beautiful and iconic volcanoes in Costa Rica, the Arenal Volcano. This area is home of cloud forests, a lake world-famous for windsurfing and an incredibly diverse population of wildlife is just part of what you will find in this amazing area of Costa Rica. La Fortuna (the town is the volcano’s slopes) is beautifully landscaped downtown, providing public benches under shady trees and ablaze with flowers. La Fortuna's busy streets offer souvenir shops, tour desks, restaurants, and friendly locals.

This family’s ranch covers 3,460 acres (1,400 hectares), with conservation areas for the tropical dry forest that we are reforesting with native tree species. After breakfast and a short transfer, you will hike for 1h30m at Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. This is a soft hike to observe mood pools, and all about volcanic activity in there.t, you will meet your naturalist English-speaking guides at the hotel’s lobby. Rincon de la Vieja, or Old Woman’s Nook is an active 1,895 meters (6217 feet) tall volcano. It is 1 of 5 volcanoes in the Cordillera de Guanacaste (Guanacaste mountain range).

This large 14,127 square hectares (35,131 square acres) national park is great for day tours in Guanacaste for those who love hiking and adventure. This national park is especially famous for its large geothermic activity and secondary volcanic activity. The ICE (Costa Rican government Power Company) even has plants in the park to study and harness the natural gas as energy. The Las Pailas sector is the most popular since it’s more accessible and closer to Liberia. You can do an easy 3- kilometer (1.86 miles) loop around the boiling mud pots or walk 4.3 kilometers (2.67 miles) to Catarata Escondida/La Andreja at 4.3 kilometers (2.67 miles).

Mud Pots

There are two areas where you could observe the mud pots on the trail. One of them looked like a little lake (laguna fumarolic) that bubbled every few seconds or so. Further down the trail, is Volcano (little volcano). This part of the mud pots is really active and it’s constantly bubbling which is very nice to see.

Once you walk out of the forest, you encounter this everlasting landscape. All you see is the mountain range, forest and clear skies ahead of you. It´s amazing how polar opposite the lansdcape is like in dry season since most of it is so yellow.

Today in the morning you will be transferred to Carrillo Beach Area.

Carrillo is a small unobtrusive community that has been playing host to some of the best-renowned sport fishing boats in the world. The beautiful white sand beach has small waves most of the time, and is popular with swimmers and families with kids. Playa Carrillo is never crowded, and it offers nice picnic areas right on the beach, visitors can enjoy quality rest and relaxation since distractions are few and noise is minimal. This beach, which has stunning views and sunsets, is easily one of the best in Costa Rica. Instead of the development seen bordering many of Costa Rica's most popular beaches, you will see nothing but palm trees on the empty coast of Carrillo.

Isla Chora is a must visit while you are in Samara. Our guide and driver will take you to south part of the beach and after some safety indications get ready for the fun! 25 minutes is an average duration to the Island. This tour is based on low tide so is available for all clients. Allow nature to surprise you with tropical fishes, or more wildlife in the Pacific Ocean.
